Make friends inSudirman.

Sudirman at six in the evening is a river of people, and nearly all of them are headed home alone through the macet. A standing weekly table, one MRT stop from your desk, is the quiet fix. Here is how it works on the corridor.

What is Hey Sini?

Hey Sini

noun

Hey Sini is a weekly social club for making friends as an adult in Jakarta. It seats five compatible people near each other at the same table, on the same night, every week for six weeks, and then the table becomes theirs. It is friendship-first, not a dating app, and it opens neighbourhood by neighbourhood, starting around Senopati.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Why a Sudirman table.

Jl. Jenderal Sudirman is working Jakarta's spine: the tower canyon, the MRT running underneath it (Bundaran HI, Dukuh Atas BNI, Setiabudi Astra, Bendungan Hilir), and Car Free Day every Sunday morning when the whole corridor turns into a promenade. Dukuh Atas is the hinge where the MRT, the KRL and the airport train at BNI City all meet.

The catch is that Sudirman is a place people work, not a place they linger: at seven the towers pour everyone into the macet and the corridor forgets them until morning. A weekly table a short walk from your desk flips that. The same five, the same night, before the traffic instead of after it, and suddenly the street you commute through has people in it who know your name.

WHO IT IS FOR

Made for Sudirman, specifically.

  • First-jobbers in a Sudirman tower with a hundred colleagues and no crew
  • Anyone whose plans keep dying somewhere in the evening macet
  • Commuters who pass through Dukuh Atas twice a day and never once stop
  • People back from studying or working overseas, starting the circle over
  • Remote workers who camp in corridor coffee shops between calls

HOW IT WORKS HERE

One match, then the same five, every week.

Getting there
The MRT runs the length of the corridor (Bundaran HI, Dukuh Atas BNI, Setiabudi Astra, Bendungan Hilir), and at Dukuh Atas you can change to the KRL or the airport rail link at BNI City.
The rhythm
Five compatible people near you, the same night, every week for six weeks. We re-seat you if it is not right.
The cost
Free to join. A founding seat is Rp 49rb/mo, locked for life. You pay your own bill at the table.

A Sudirman table lands a short walk off the corridor: a coffee bar near Dukuh Atas, a long table tucked behind the towers, somewhere you reach on foot before the macet wins. We suggest the spot via Google Maps, the five of you confirm it together, and we never book the venue or take venue money.

SUDIRMAN QUESTIONS

Before you sit down.

I work on Sudirman but live somewhere else entirely. Which area do I pick?

Pick where your evening actually is. If seven o'clock finds you still near Dukuh Atas, a Sudirman table beats a table near a home you only reach at nine. Plenty of people keep their weekly night on the corridor and save the commute for after.

When does a Sudirman table start?

The moment enough compatible people nearby share one night they can keep. Nothing is running until then, and we will not pretend otherwise. Sign up with Sudirman as your area and you are counted toward the first table.
