¶ THE QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

Everything about the same five at the same table every week: what a seat costs, where it runs, and how we keep it safe.

Is this a dating app?

It starts with friendship - a table of five who keep showing up. But come for whatever you're hoping to find: a crew, a standing plan for the week, maybe more. You don't swipe strangers for a seat - we match you once and bring the same five back every week, so acquaintances have time to actually become yours. (Dating-first tables are on the way.)

What actually happens at the first table?

Five compatible people near you meet at a spot we suggest on a set night. We point you to the place, usually somewhere down a laneway, and send the reminder. Nothing is booked or held; you just turn up. Most crews keep meeting after the first six weeks.

How much does it cost?

Membership is $22 a month, and it's free to start. Dinner is always your own bill. Dues cover the matching and the standing weekly slot, nothing more, and we take nothing from venues. Less than a flat white a week.

What if I don't click with my crew?

Tell us and we'll re-seat you. The matching engine balances age, interests and availability, and it learns from every cycle.

Where is Hey Sini available?

We're opening neighbourhood by neighbourhood in Melbourne, starting with Carlton. Each area starts only once enough people have signed up to fill a table.

Is it safe?

Tables are small and hosted, you can report or block anyone, and an optional safety check-in nudges your emergency contact if you ever go quiet for two days.
