CENTRAL JAKARTA · A WEEKLY TABLE OF FIVE · FRIENDSHIP-FIRST
Jalan Sabang (Jl. H. Agus Salim, but nobody calls it that) has been feeding central Jakarta off the pavement for generations. You can eat brilliantly here alone every night of the week, which is exactly the problem a weekly table fixes.
What is Hey Sini?
Hey Sini
nounHey Sini is a weekly social club for making friends as an adult in Jakarta. It seats five compatible people near each other at the same table, on the same night, every week for six weeks, and then the table becomes theirs. It is friendship-first, not a dating app, and it opens neighbourhood by neighbourhood, starting around Senopati.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Why a Sabang table.
The strip is short and mighty: satay smoke from late afternoon, old-school restaurants and kopi joints shoulder to shoulder, with Sarinah and the Jl. Thamrin towers one block west and Monas a longer walk north. Jl. K.H. Wahid Hasyim crosses it and carries the spillover.
Because the food is settled, a Sabang table gets to skip the hardest decision and start at the good part: the same five people, the same night, dinner before the commute instead of after it. Half the corridor's office crowd already eats here; the table just makes five of them yours.
WHO IT IS FOR
Made for Sabang, specifically.
- Office workers around Thamrin and Sarinah who eat near work anyway
- First-jobbers in kos rooms off Jl. Wahid Hasyim
- Street-food loyalists tired of eating brilliantly alone
- People back from overseas who missed exactly this street
- Night owls who like the city centre after the offices empty
HOW IT WORKS HERE
One match, then the same five, every week.
- Getting there
- TransJakarta corridor 1 runs down Jl. Thamrin one block west, and the MRT at Bundaran HI and the KRL at Gondangdia are both a short walk.
- The rhythm
- Five compatible people near you, the same night, every week for six weeks. We re-seat you if it is not right.
- The cost
- Free to join. A founding seat is Rp 49rb/mo, locked for life. You pay your own bill at the table.
A Sabang table lands on the strip or just off it: a long table behind the satay smoke, an old restaurant on Jl. H. Agus Salim, or around the corner on Wahid Hasyim if the street is heaving. We suggest the spot via Google Maps, the five of you confirm it, and we never book the venue or take venue money.
SABANG QUESTIONS
Before you sit down.
Is the table at a street stall or a proper restaurant?
Wherever five people can talk for two hours. We suggest somewhere with real seats via Google Maps and the five of you confirm it, then the table is free to graduate to the pavement satay whenever it likes. We never book anywhere or take venue money.
I work near Thamrin but live an hour away. Is a Sabang table worth it?
Sabang is a dinner street, so a table here means you eat well before the commute instead of badly after it. The night ends when you want it to, and the same five are back next week either way.
