Kebayoran Baru was drawn up in the 1950s as a garden suburb where life would be lived locally. Seventy years on, the trees delivered; the built-in neighbours did not. A weekly table is the local life the plan promised.
What is Hey Sini?
Hey Sini is a weekly social club for making friends as an adult in Jakarta. It seats five compatible people near each other at the same table, on the same night, every week for six weeks, and then the table becomes theirs. It is friendship-first, not a dating app, and it opens neighbourhood by neighbourhood, starting around Senopati.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
It is Jakarta's original planned neighbourhood: leafy roundabouts, low streets, and Blok M in the middle doing the opposite of quiet. M Bloc Space brought the old state-printing complex back to life on Jl. Panglima Polim, the Melawai blocks run late, and Taman Ayodya by Barito gives the whole thing a green pause.
